Sleeping in on a Saturday…with Children

Saturday Morning
“Oh LOOK! There’s something dangling up there! I THINK I CAN GET IT.”
“SOMETHING MOVED UNDER THE BED! IT’S SHINY!”
“SHH! DON’T WAKE MUMMY!”

  1. Never allow mommy to sleep in; it is important that you deprive her of sleep for the first two years of life. After you’ve done that you will come to understand why you consider her ‘senseless.’ At age 25 you will call her on the phone for a recipe or two. At age 35 you will call her to babysit your brood because you are now sleep deprived. Only a senseless grandma accepts your request. All others are out of town on a vacation or they have moved two thousand miles away.

I’m not sure which group I’m part of, but at my age if these two daughters don’t get busy the only babysitting I’ll be up to is the kind that sits decorating the mantle in an urn. They don’t dare ship me off for burial. Six feet under and I have PROMISED them I will come back to haunt them.

Oh wait…perhaps that’s what they want…a dead woman to scare their children into nightmarish sleep?

    Yes. I’ve lost my mind.

  2. Squeeeeee! These two are so cute and mom is super beautiful. Did they catch her tail? XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo
