Tsuki and the Sock

Tsuki - sock
Tsuki: β€œThe sock is mine. I found it. I will love him and hug him and squeeze him and I will call him George.”
(Can you guess where the inspiration came from?)

      1. Going way back to my youth, there was George of the Jungle, and I believe Bugs Bunny called things George, if I remember correctly, but I don’t recall the line you are quoting specifically.

  1. Is it “The Abominable Show Rabbit” ?
    || Hugo the Abominable Snowman: Oh, what a cute little bunny rabbit! Just what I always wanted. I will name him George, and I will hug him and pet him and squeeze him…
    Daffy Duck: I’m not a bunny rabbit…
Hugo the Abominable Snowman: …and pat him and pet him and… and rub him and caress him and…
Daffy Duck: I AIN’T NO BUNNY RABBIT! ||
Will I win a tenderpaw on the nose from Tsuki?

What do you mean with “Bugs Bunny parody” ? Do you mean the parody of Richard Wagner’s operas ? Here there were no saturday morning cartoons at that time. Broadcast only in the afternoon πŸ™‚

      2. Much of Bugs Bunny was a parody of something. The Abominable Snowman and the “George” bit is from of Mice and Men” The Wagner operas, The Barber of Seville, The King in “Where’s my Hassen Pfeffer” was modelled of Oscar Wilde. Warner Brothers wrote for adults as well as children. FogHorn Leg Horn was based on a senator! πŸ™‚

  2. Of Mice and Men. George and Lenny. Lenny hugs and squeezes his pets and at least one human so hard that they die. He does not understand his own strength. Dearly loves his best friend George. Yes, on the Steinbeck, no to Grapes. We absolutely reference the Bugs Bunny cartoons w the novel in English 9.

  3. I remember the little girl. I never liked her. πŸ™‚

My white dog will find a piece of bread and guard it like she was just put in charge of the lost Ark. What is it with cats, dogs and “mine!”
